Approximately 60 % of all jobs in the Lahti region are in the trade and service sector. The share of industrial jobs is nearly 30% of all the jobs in the area and the other jobs are divided into e.g. construction and other such sectors.

In the industrial sector, the metal industry (32 %) and woodworking industry (26 %) offer the most job opportunities The Lahti region is also well known for its textile and clothing industries and food industry. The Isku Group (1083 employees), Koskisen Oy (950 employees) and L-Fashion Group Oy (662 employees) are the biggest industrial employers in the region.
